I am supposed to give PE a list of items I would like for Christmas. So, I figured I might as well post it here (since I now know he can find the blog). The first four are in order of priority.
1 - The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl.
2 - I want one of the following to use when I play with dough. I have a baking liner and that works okay for smaller items but one of these would be fabulous for rolling larger items. Less flour is needed and cleanup is easier.
Roul'Pat Pastry Mat
OR
Silpat Commercial Size Baking Liner
3 - Microplane Grater/Zester
4 - Hand/Immersion Blender with chopper attachment. I want good quality that will hold up to light use (cream soups, canned tomatoes, frozen strawberries, etc.). If anyone has input, please share. (The Cuisinart SmartStick is pictured below.)
The following items are items I would love but are not a top priority.
Stainless Dredge (3) - I currently have some shakers for powdered surgar and cinnamon & sugar; however, one is broken and they both could do a better job of distributing. I want to add another one for flour so I can evenly distrubute the flour when I need to roll out dough.
Pyrex Storage Containers - I want to start switching to glass storage for food. I dislike the discoloration/smell that plastic storage can get and that would also prevent PE's melting of containers when reheating food in the microwave. We could also place the containers in the dishwasher (we currently hand wash plastic storage containers as the dishwasher just flips them over and I don't feel they get as clean.)
Collapsible Pie Cutter - I think this would be very handy for cutting the pie and helping to keep it looking decent.
